Give Place in Your Heart
31 Promises from the Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon is not just a witness to the divinity of Jesus Christ, but a transformative force in our lives. Its specific purpose is to reveal the great things the Lord has done for us. It brings us to a knowledge of our Savior through the testimony of the early inhabitants of the Americas. It has restored the plain and precious truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ lost to the world. Most importantly, The Book of Mormon will prepare the faithful for the second coming of Jesus Christ and his millennial reign.
The promises made in the Book of Mormon focus on matters about the kingdom of God. The promises revealed through the Book of Mormon offer us the marvels of eternity. We are promised that evidence and witnesses will "follow them that believe."
Everyone who reads the Book of Mormon with a pure heart and a desire to know its truthfulness can hear the sweet whisperings of the Holy Spirit. The Lord promises us a "more sure witness" of the truth of these things borne of the Holy Ghost. "It is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." These promises are not just words but a firm assurance of the Lord's love and guidance in our lives.

"that ye may walk guiltless before God."

No one walks through this life blameless. Jesus Christ was the only perfect being ever to grace this planet. He committed no sin during his lifetime and never strayed from the path of righteousness. Despite our imperfections, this one perfect person, through the Book of Mormon, promises us that if we strive to remain free from sin by following his teachings and attending to the needs and sufferings of others, he will remit our wrongdoing and declare us guiltless on the last day.

"a straight course to eternal bliss."

God, in His infinite love and desire for our eternal happiness, has promised us extraordinary blessings as we learn to walk by faith and make morally sound decisions and choices. His incredible plan providing us with the gift and miracle of eternal life in the presence of God and our Savior is a testament to how deeply he loves us and how much he desires our eternal happiness. His great plan of salvation includes our eternal bliss and our eternal life.

"he doth bless you and prosper you."

The ancient prophets of the promised land considered wealth a direct blessing made possible through obedience to God’s law, a concept that encompasses not just adherence to religious rituals but also ethical conduct and moral living. Prosperity was not seen as a curse but a benediction. Wealth, in the hands of an obedient people, provided more significant opportunities for spiritual expression and development.

"to be raised unto life eternal."

Eternal life is the greatest gift of God. It comprises the fullness of God’s kingdom and will allow us to dwell with the Father and the Son. We become joint-heirs with Christ in receiving the fullness of the Father’s kingdom.  We are forgiven of our sins and become a new creature in Christ, taking on his divine nature. As such, we obtain peace of conscience, are filled with joy, and have “no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually.”
