The Least of These

A Lesson in Faith, Humility, and the Lord's Unexpected Providence

Some Missionary Plans Begin with Prayer. Others Begin with a Short Man at the Chapel Door.

In the small Argentine city of San Rafael, two young missionaries arrive with determination, optimism, and a carefully constructed plan for success.
Like many missionaries before them, they believe that if they can just find the right strategy—and perhaps the right influential church member—the work of sharing the gospel will move forward quickly.
But San Rafael proves to be a place where plans tend to fall apart.

God Often Chooses the Small Things of the World.

In The Least of These, two young missionaries launch a bold new plan to increase baptisms by working through the members of the Church. The idea seems inspired. The execution, however, proves slightly more complicated.

There's Sergeant Shackleford, whose devotion to mission rules borders on military command. There's Elder James, cheerful and bespectacled, whose coke-bottle glasses lend every moment a certain optical grandeur. And there's Elder Price, wounded by romance and skeptical of inspiration. And somewhere in the background, almost unnoticed, stands a humble greeter who quietly changes everything.

😂 Equal Parts Laughter and Reverence

With warmth, faith, and humor, The Least of These tells a true story about missionary work, human weakness, unexpected miracles, and the people the Lord prepares long before anyone else thinks to notice them.
This is a story about referrals, repentance, fast-and-testimony meetings, washed-out roads, a tragic flat of decorated eggs, and the quiet power of one faithful member who loved his neighbors.

The One We Overlook May Be the One God Chooses.

While the missionaries search for influential people to advance their efforts, the Lord has already prepared someone far more effective — small in stature, unnoticed by most, yet faithfully sharing his beliefs with those around him.

What follows is a story of unexpected miracles, missionary mishaps, and the quiet power of humble service. The Least of These is a reminder that the Lord’s work often moves forward through the person standing humbly at the door.
